The above is a good example of what not to do from retailer Tradesy’s Facebook page. Once you’ve found some ads convert reasonably well given the whole picture (impressions, CTR, Conversions, profitability), increase the budget & roll them out to more people to see. Controversy for controversy’s sake is rarely a good idea.
