Over the last 20 years, new car prices have risen from $21,850 to nearly $40,000, a big jump of 56% since 2000. Used car prices went up by 17% between 2020 and 2021. A used cars average price was $23,371 in 2020, but by April 2021, it went up to $27,297. 29% of the USs greenhouse gas emissions come from transportation.
