Public multiples often were around 4x-5x in 2008, and then the global meltdown came, and public multiples fell to as less than 2x revenue for a while.

Google officially acquires DoubleClick In 2008, the European Commission approved Google’s acquisition of DoubleClick, valued at $3.1 billion.
